This project is a work space that combines a residence with a window decoration studio. Due to the high housing prices and crowded living conditions in Taipei, the homeowner chose to merge their living and work spaces. In this project, we aimed to propose a shared living and work pattern and solve the design challenges of combining commercial functions with display.
The design focuses on the work space, with office equipment and a bar area located on the right wall. The upper portion of the wall is fitted with a large number of high cabinets, providing ample storage space. On the left side, a wall-mounted hanging system is designed to meet the needs of display and storage. The stepped platform not only provides a display and storage space, but also serves as an easy-to-replace display pattern. The stairs also provide a convenient pathway to the independent resting space above.
To meet the residential needs, a multi-layered structure is created at the end of the space. The lower level is equipped with a washing and sanitation area, and the wall is integrated using a unified color scheme. The upper level uses translucent glass to create an independent glass partition for the homeowner’s living space.
